Springfield Schools Academic Foundation

The Springfield Schools Academic Foundation (SSAF) supports academics within Springfield Local Schools by giving classroom grants, a bookshare program where every student from Kindergarten thru 6th grade receive a book at the end of the school year to keep and provides a scholarship to a graduating Springfield senior who is continuing their education. Any Springfield or Lakemore resident or Springfield alumni who wants to join the board of the SSAF can contact Jorge Rodrigues at 330-571-6510.

The SSAF conducts several fundraisers a year that is used to fund these projects. The SSAF would like to fund more technology for the classrooms to promote reading and Kindergarten starter kits. We would also like to eventually fund an outdoor reading area on the campus of the new high school. Some of the past Classroom grants have included: supporting the Rocket Club, a math on demand program, classroom books for multiple classrooms, kindergarten time line books, frog kids for science classes and equipment for multimedia classes.

The SSAF is selling Commemorative Bricks from the High School buildings as they are torn down. We have a limited number of bricks from the old auditorium. The donation for a brick is $20 and includes a plaque on the brick. The bricks are old and have some chips and old mortar still on them. These particular bricks are from 1978. The SSAF is a 501-C3 approved organization and all proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards educational type of programs for Springfield School students. There are only about 250 bricks from this phase so please purchase your bricks soon. A limited number of bricks will be available to purchase at all of the school buildings and the board office. You can also send in the attached order form to order a brick. Please make your checks out to SSAF. We will contact you about the best place to pick up your brick.
