Schrop Idol
Congratulations to our Schrop idol winner Aaron Furcsik, and to all the students who participated in Schrop idol this year. It was a great success, starting with the Schrop teachers who performed their light dance, the fifth grade chorus and special guest soloist Mr. Freeze, and ending with our sixth grade students who performed for the first time in our new high school auditorium.
Seth Frient as stage manager and Nick Dinkins as sound engineer did an outstanding job making our show run smoothly. Dylan Hannah who portrayed Ryan Seacrest kept the show alive along with judges Jessie Davidson as Keith, Kaylee Mercer as Jennifer, and James Turney as Harry. Soloist included Claire Wilson, Megan Arends, Gabe Moore, Christian Alvarade as Banana Man, Cierra Watkins, Alexis Esterle, Joe Wiles, and our two finalists, Elijah Sharp and Kaytlyn Hicks.
All Schrop idol performers will be heading to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on May 26 for a day of great fun and new experiences at the museum.

Schrop Running Club
Schrop students participated in the annual Bunny Run in April. Students who improved their trail time earned rewards. Students will participate in an end of the year trail run on the Springfield Community Trail at Schrop. The Springfield Community Trail will be focused in the National CDC Creating Healthy Communities Grant program this year as a model program for encouraging physical activity in a community.
