    School Newspaper
Schrop School will be starting a school newspaper this year. We were awarded a grant from the GAR Foundation, which was submitted by Mrs. Eberts, our literacy specialist. Other involved staff members include Mrs. Frank, Mrs. DeMarco, Mrs. Housley, and Mr. Zimmerman. We will be purchasing technology equipment, supplies, going on field trips, and using speakers to help provide expertise in writing and reading skills. There will be a core group of students to read, write, and edit articles that have been submitted by Schrop students. All students will have the opportunity to make submissions. We are excited to publish our first edition.

    Mentoring Program
On September 14, Schrop students and staff had a day full of team building and getting to know each other activities during our first ever mentoring day. Students were divided into teams of 10-13 students with a staff member. Our goal is to create an academic and socially successful environment by providing opportunities for each student to connect and belong. The students and staff voted on a name for our mentoring program, and OSCAR (Our School Connects and Respects) won. Students will have one OSCAR day each grading period this year.
