  • Riley P. Counahan Memorial Scholarship

    Deadline: March 20, 2020

    Amount: TBD (Last year's award amount was $3,200)

    Eligibility Requirements:

    • The student is a senior preparing for high school graduation in teh spring of the current year
    • The applicant is a student in good standing and will graduate with a cumulative GPA of 2.65 or higher
    • The student will have applied to college(s) and intends to enroll and attend classes in the summer or fall following the award
    • The student must have at least 8 total volunteer experiences with the Foodbank during his/her junior and senior yeras with at least 20 total hours; preference will be given to students who surpass these targets in exemplary ways
    • The student must fully complete the applicaiton provided by the Foodbank
    • Preference will be given to students who can provide examples of leadership, community involvment, partipation in athletics and extra-curricular opportunities, and voluneerism beyond their Foodbank experience
    • Students will attach a one-page essay to their application describing why they are deserving of this award and what it will mean in achieving their college goals
    • Students will include at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, school counselor, or employer

  • Honor Amanda Foundation Scholarship

    Deadline: Apply between January 1st and April 30th

    Amount: $1,000 ($500 per semester)

    Eligibility Requirements (Meet at least 7 out of 10):

    1. Exceptional drug awareness raised by applicant
    2. Applicant has been personally impacted by substance abuse in their home
    3. Applicant has a financial need
    4. Minimum 2.5 GPA maintained
    5. Applicant takes the tiem to read Amanda's Story and comment on its impact
    6. Declared major in Social Services, Criminal Justice, or Psychology
    7. Applicant must be attending a 2 to 4-year accredited college
    8. Applicant must sign a release form to have first and last name listed as recipient on the website
    9. Volunteering for Honor Amanda Foundation
    10. Letter of Recommendation

  • GOODYEAR STEM DAY SCHOLARSHIP
     
    Deadline: February 28, 2020
     
    Amount: Multiple $1000-$2500
     
    Criteria/Comments:
     
    The applicant must be a high school senior enrolled in a public or private school or home schooled and satisfy the following:
    1. The applicant must complete a formal application by February 28,2020 by submitting all required materials which include:
      • Application document
      • Essay
      • Creative component (see details on application) - Not required for all scholarships.
      • One letter of recommendation from a core STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) teacher
      • High school transcript
      • SAT or ACT scores (a photocopy of the official score report)
    2. The applicant must provide evidence of acceptance into a bachelor's undergraduate Engineering/STEM program or a letter of intent. (Copy of official acceptance letter must be provided prior to check being issued to the school in the winner's name. If evidence is not provided by July 15, 2020, the scholarship is forfeited.)
    3. Academic Status: Must have a GPA of 3.0 or greater
    4. Eligibility: U.S. Citizen
    5. Applicant must attend the Goodyear STEM Career Day on February 29, 2020.

  • Ivan and Judith Flohr Scholarships

    Deadline: June 15 and January 15

    Criteria: $500 each

    Ivan Flohr Scholarship - Entrepreneurial & Manufacturing
    • be high school seniors
    • be a Summit, Medina, and/or Portage County, Ohio Resident and
    • be in a Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or Manufacturing Program or Curriculum
    • be a US Citizen
    • complete and submit the Flohr Scholarship Application
    • complete and submit the Scholarship Essay-"Why I Feel I have the Entrepreneurial Spirit for Manufacturing" (500 words)

    Judith Flohr Scholarship - Tools to Succeed
    • be high school seniors
    • be a Summit, Medina, and/or Portage County, Ohio Resident and
    • be in a Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or Manufacturing Program or Curriculum
    • be a US Citizen • complete and submit the Flohr Scholarship Application
    • complete and submit the Scholarship Essay-"Why I Feel I have the Tools For Success" (1,000 words)
