MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING

OF JANUARY 24, 2006

 

 

 

The Board of Education of the Springfield Local School District met in

the Board Room of the Administration Building, January 24, 2006 for a

Special Meeting.  The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M.  Board

members present were Mrs. Mash, Mrs. Young, Mrs. Dodson, Mr. Wieland

and Mr. Ternosky.  The Superintendent, Treasurer, and Business Manager

were also present.

 

 

 

After roll call the following motion was made.

 

 

 

06-030             Mrs. Dodson made a motion that the Special Board meeting

Meeting               be moved to the High School auditorium.  Second by

Location              Mr. Ternosky.  Ayes:  Mrs. Dodson, Mrs. Mash, Mrs. Young,

                        Mr. Ternosky, Mr. Wieland.  Mrs. Mash declared the motion

                        passed.

 

 

 

                        The pledge of allegiance was recited.

                                                                                                                                               

                                                           

 

06-031             Mr. Wieland made a motion that the Board approve a resolution

Tax Levy                    determining to proceed with the submission to the electors of the

                        school district the question of levying an additional tax pursuant to

                        sections 5705.194 to 5705.197 of the revised code.  (Exhibit 1) 

                        Second by Mr. Ternosky.  Ayes:  Mrs. Mash, Mr. Ternosky,

                        Mr. Wieland, Mrs. Young.  Nays:  Mrs. Dodson.  Mrs. Mash declared

                        the motion passed.

 

 

 

06-032             Mr. Ternosky made a motion that the Board approve the proposed

Proposed Plan            plan for the 2006-2007 school year as presented in this meeting with

2006-2007            the Boyer School proposal to be tabled and reviewed by the Building

                        and Grounds Committee for classroom space at other buildings while

                        maintaining the quality of the kindergarten program.  Second by

                        Mrs. Dodson.  Ayes:  Mrs. Dodson, Mrs. Mash, Mr. Ternosky,

                        Mr. Wieland, Mrs. Young.  Mrs. Mash declared the motion passed.

                                     

 

06-033             Mrs. Young made a motion for adjournment.  Second by

Adjournment         Mr. Ternosky.  Ayes:  Mrs. Dodson, Mrs. Mash, Mr. Ternosky,

                        Mr. Wieland, Mrs. Young.  Mrs. Mash declared the motion passed.

 

                        Meeting adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
