MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
OF NOVEMBER 8, 2005
The
Board of Education of the Springfield Local School District met at Spring Hill
Junior
High School, November 8, 2005 for the Regular Meeting. The meeting was
called
to order at 7:00 P.M. Board
members present were Mrs. Mash, Mr. Ternosky,
Mrs.
Oldham, Mrs. Dodson and Mr. Wieland. The Superintendent, Business Manager
and
Treasurer were also present.
Following
roll call, the pledge of allegiance was recited.
Mrs.
Cynthia Frola, Springfield High School principal, presented information
that
High School student Matthew Vitina has been named as a Commended
Student
in the 2006 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended
Students
placed among the top five per cent of more than one million students
who
entered the 2006 competition.
05-263 Mr. Ternosky made a motion that
the Board approve the minutes

declared the motion passed.

Mash made a motion that the Board employ Debra Sitter as a
Personnel classified
substitutes
effective the first day assigned and pending
proper
certification/licensure. Second by
Mr. Ternosky. Ayes:

Oldham declared the motion passed.
05-266 Mr.
Ternosky made a motion that the Board employ Trudy Warner
Personnel for
a two-hour cafeteria position per the negotiated collective bargaining
agreement,
pending proper certification/licensure effective October 19, 2005.

effective the first day assigned.

School Ski Club from January 12, 2006 to

2006, to SmugglerÕs Notch Ski Resort in Smuggs, Vermont,
for
members of the High School ski club and chaperons. No school days
will
be missed and all expenses to be paid by participants. Second by
Mr.
Wieland. Ayes: Mrs. Mash, Mr. Ternosky, Mrs. Dodson,
Mrs. Oldham,

05-275 Mrs.
Mash made a motion that the Board approve an overnight/extended
Overnight/ trip for the Spring Hill Junior
High 7th and 8th grades from Thursday,
Extended Trip April
6 through Saturday, April 8, 2006, to Toronto and Niagara Falls,
Ontario
for students and chaperons. Two
school days will be missed and
students
will be given the opportunity to make up work. All expenses to be
paid
by participants. Second by Mrs.
Dodson. Ayes: Mrs. Mash, Mr. Ternosky,
Mrs.
Dodson, Mrs. Oldham, Mr. Wieland.

passed.
05-276 Mr.
Ternosky made a motion that the Board enter into executive
Executive session
at this time to consult with an attorney and discuss future
Session potential
land acquisition. Second by Mr.
Wieland. Ayes: Mrs. Mash,

Ternosky, Mrs. Dodson, Mrs. Oldham, Mr. Wieland. Mrs. Oldham
declared
the motion passed.
The
Board entered into Executive Session at 8:25 P.M.

Board returned from Executive Session at 9:44 P.M.

adjournment. Second by
