VII. Personnel
1. It is recommended that Regina Samuels be employed as a 6th-grade teacher at Schrop Elementary School on a one-year limited contract, Step 1, at the Bachelor's Level for the 2002-2003 school year.
2. It is recommended that the following supplemental contracts be approved for the 2002-2003 school year:

3. It is recommended that Stacie Pendergast be employed as a Developmental Kindergarten Teacher at Boyer Kindergarten Center on a one-year limited contract for the 2002-2003 school year.
4. It is recommended that Jody Englert be employed as an SBH Moderate to Intensive Grades 1-4 teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School on a one-year limited contract for the 2002-2003 school year.
5. It is recommended that Les Cheney be employed to supervise the weight room and teach weight training classes as needed at 50% of the 5-year training level, Step 9, for the 2002-2003 school year.
6. It is recommended that Beth Mitchell be employed as a home instructor on an as needed basis.
7. It is recommended that the following be employed at $16 per instructional and preparation hour to teach summer school 2002:

10. It is recommended that the resignation of Brenda Triner, 6th-grade Schrop Elementary School Teacher, be accepted effective for the 2002-2003 school year.
11. It is recommended that the resignation of Lakemore Elementary School SBH teacher Elaine Andrews be accepted, effective June 17, 2002.
12. It is recommended that the resignation of Boyer/Schrop educational assistant Debbie Price be accepted, effective June 6, 2002.
13. It is recommended that the resignation of High School teaching assistant Edith Graves be accepted, effective June 6, 2002.
14. It is recommended that Joe Schadle be employed as a substitute custodian, effective the first day worked.
15. It is recommended that Kathy Zehner receive $20 per hour for providing 6th-Grade Proficiency Intervention on Prep Nights held after school during February. stipends are paid from the Parity Aid Grant funds.
16. It is recommended that the following educators receive a stipend as outlined in the Master Agreement for serving as a mentor during the 2001-2002 school year. Stipend amounts will be adjusted based on length of time as a mentor, number of new teachers assigned to one mentor, completion of logs and participation in the Professional Growth sessions:

17. It is recommended that Ann Phillips receive up to 20 additional days to plan and implement staff development programs, summer school for grades 3-6, oversee administration of the summer 4th-Grade Proficiency testing, and complete federal and state grant project applications and evaluations.
18. It is recommended that the following educators be hired to teach the Summer School Reading Workshop for students in Grades 3-6 at the rate of $22.61 per hour:

19. It is recommended that Edward Brown be employed for the 2002-2003 school year on a limited contract as Spring Hill Junior High School teacher.
20. It is recommended that the following be employed at $16 per instructional and preparation hour for intervention and test administration during the weeks of July 8-12 and July 15-19, 2002, in association with the Summer School Program:

IX. Adoption of Temporary Appropriations
It is recommended that the Temporary Appropriations for FY 2003 be approved as they appear in Exhibit 3.
X. Agreement with Summit County Educational Service Center
It is recommended that the agreement with the Summit County Educational Service Center for designation of specific selection and employment responsibilities for certificated staff to the Springfield Local School District be approved as it appears in Exhibit 4.
XI. CAFS Service Agreement Renewal
It is recommended that the CAFS Service Agreement be approved as it appears in Exhibit 5.
XII. Delegate/Alternate OSBA
It is necessary to select a delegate and alternate to the OSBA Convention on November 2002. _______________ is nominated as the delegate, and _______________is nominated as the alternate.
XIII. Approval of Five-Year Financial Forecast
It is recommended that the Five-Year Financial Forecast be approved as it appears in Exhibit 6.
XIV. Agreement with MEO/SERRC
It is recommended that the Board continue to cooperate and partake in any and/or all of the services offered by the Mid-Eastern Ohio Special Educational Regional Resource Center from September 1, 2002, through August 31, 2003 at no cost to the Springfield Board of Education.
XV. Agreement with Health Department
It is recommended that an agreement be approved with the Summit County Health Department to provide Health Services, Family Education, and Dental Health Services for the 2002-2003 school year, in the amount of $98,707.
XVI. Membership in OHSAA
It is recommended that approval be given to join the Ohio High School Athletic Association for Spring Hill Junior High School and Springfield High School for the 2002-2003 school year.
XVII. Service Plan Agreement with Summit County Educational Service Center
It is recommended that the Service Plan Agreement between the Springfield Local Board of Education and the Summit County Educational Service Center, beginning July 1, 2002, and ending June 30, 2003, be approved as it appears in Exhibit 7.
XVIII. Acceptance of Donation
It is recommended that the donation to Springfield High School of a Dell Dim 4100 Series Pentium 3 Proc 1 GHZ and a Toshiba Portable 48K memory 66 MHZ with accessories from Fred Jeffries Jr. be accepted.
XIX. Approval of the Amended Appropriations for the Fiscal Year 2002
It is recommended that the amended appropriations for the fiscal year 2002 be approved as they appear in Exhibit 8.
XX. Approval of the Final Amended Certificate of Available Resources
It is recommended that the final amended certificate of available resources be approved as it appears in Exhibit 9.
XXI. Approval of Resolution with First Merit Securities, Inc.
It is recommended that approval of the resolution with First Merit Securities, Inc. be approved as it appears in Exhibit 10.
XXII. Approval of Advances for FY 2002
It is recommended that the approval of advances for the FY 2002 be approved as they appear in Exhibit 11.
XXIII. Application for Food Program Participation
It is recommended that application be made for the district to participate in the (1) national School Lunch Program, (2) School Breakfast Program, (3) Special Milk Program, (4) Government Donated Food Program for the 2002-2003 school year.
XXIV. Approval of Volunteer Coaches
It is recommended that the following volunteer coaches be approved for the 2002-2003 school year:

XXV. Approval of Contract with Summa Health System Hospitals
It is recommended that the Board enter into a contract with Summa Health System Hospitals to provide athletic training coverage for the 2002-2003 school year at a cost of $16.25 per hour for up to 820 hours of service.
XXVI. Adoption of Policies
It is recommended that the Bylaws 0140, 0160, Policies 2114, 2340, 2370, 2412, 2431, 2623, 2623.01, 3112, 3120.09,3362, 4112 4120.08, 4362, 5112, 5113, 5330, 5410, 5430, 5512, 5517, 5610, 5610.03, 6152, 6220, 6231, 7300, 7540, 7540.01, 7540.02, 7540.03, 7540.04, 9700, and 9800 be adopted as they are revised and appear as an attachment to the agenda.
XXVII. Textbook Adoption
It is recommended that the Math Investigations published by Scott Foresman for Grades 1 and 2 be adopted beginning with the 2002-2003 school year.
XXVIII. Executive Session to Discuss Employment of Personnel and Board Level Grievance.
It is recommended that the Board go into executive session at the time to discuss employment of personnel and Board level grievance.
