The minutes of the regular meeting of April 9, 2002, appear
as Exhibit 1. They are recommended for approval.

1. It is recommended that Josh Klein be employed on a
one-year limited contract for the 2002-2003 school year for a mild to moderate
resource room at Spring Hill Jr. High as per the negotiated salary schedule,
effective August 26, 2002
2. It is recommended that the following certificated
personnel be employed for the Extended School Year Program, June 24, 2002-
August 1, 2002 at $22.61 per hour for up to 96 hours:
Elaine Andrews
Teacher
Lora Beasley
Speech/ Language Therapist
Nancy Marable
Teacher
Charlene Paler
Teacher
3. It is recommended that the following educational teaching
assistants be employed for the Extended School Year Program, June 24, 2002-
August 1, 2002 at $7.93 per hour for up to 96 hours:
William Arbaugh
Sandra haught
Teena Koehler
Lisa Llewellye (PACE Program Cuyahoga Falls)
Mariann Suzelis
Cathy Turner
4. It is recommended that up to 40 days be approved for
Marilyn Croskey to oversee the installation of the phone system during the
summer.
5. It is recommended that the following substitute teachers
be employed for the remainder of the 2001-2002 school year, effective the first
day worked:
Tomas Hughes
Edward Brown
6. It is recommended that the following substitute workers
be employed:
Louise Zeffer - custodian/educational assistant/ teaching assistant/cafeteria
worker, effective the first day worked
Rebecca Stubbs - educational assistant/teaching assistant, effective the first
day worked
7. It is recommended that the following replacement 2-hour
cafeteria workers be employed:
Paulene Butcher- High School- Effective 4/15/02
Linda Simon- Roosavelt- Effective 5/6/02
Cheryl Brewer- Schrop- Effective 4/29/02
IX. Approval of Graduates
It is recommended that the seniors, as listed in Exhibit 3,
be approved to receive a diploma from Springfield High School after having met
all requirements as set forth by the State of Ohio and the Springfield Board of
Education.
X. Acceptance of Donation
It is recommended that the $5,000 donation to the
Springfield High School Scholarship Fund from Catherine Workman in memory of
her husband, a former Springfield coach and teacher from 1932 to 1941, be
accepted.
XI. Approval of Tax Abatement Program
It is recommended that the Board approve the resolution to
enter into an agreement with the City of Akron for a tax abatement program with
Flutes, LLC, as it appears in Exhibit 4.
XII. Approval by Ohio Tax Commission to Waive Taxes
It is recommended that the resolution authorizing the
consent for the Ohio Tax Commissioner to waive taxes owned by the County of
Summit on parcel #5402246 be approved, as it appears in Exhibit 5.
XIII. Approval of Proposal With Valuation Engineers for
Asset Appraisal
It is recommended that the proposal from Valuation Engineers
for Asset Appraisal be approved as it appears in Exhibit 6.

TeachNet Grant Award Winner - $500
Sixty-eight Springfield high school students participated in
National Youth Service Day - April 26, 2002 in the City of Akron.
