1. WORK SESSION
REGARDING THE BAND TRIP
REGULAR BOARD MEETING - Second Tuesday of
each month at 7:00 P.M.
1. It is
recommended that the resignation of Leia Ellis, Roosevelt Elementary Special
Education Teacher, be accepted, effective October 12, 2001.
2. It is
recommended that Melody Thailing be employed as a mild to moderate resource
room teacher on a one-year limited contract at Roosevelt Elementary School for
the 2001-2002 school year, effective October 23, 2001.
3. It is
recommended that Kelley Baylor be employed as a Roosevelt Elementary School
tutor, pending proper certification, as per the collective bargaining agreement
with SLACT, as needed for the 2001-2002 school year.
4. It is
recommended that Linda Magnuson Be employed as a substitute teacher, effective
the first day worked.
5. It is
recommended that Melinda Nagle-Weakland's maternity leave request, beginning
March 19, 2002, be approved.
6. It is
recommended that the maternity leave request of Jennifer Ganzer, beginning
March 12, 2002.
7. It is
recommended that Kim Hannan's maternity leave request, beginning March 6, 2002,
be approved.
8. It is
recommended that the following be employed as substitute cafeteria worker,
effective the first day of work: Michelle Hummum, Beckee Orms, Joanne Sondles.
9. It is
recommended that the following substitute educational/teaching assistants
be employed, effective the first day worked: Doris Errington, Cathy
Turner, Sheryl Best, William Wilmoth.
10. It is
recommended that Dan Filipowicz be employed as a substitute custodian,
effective October 25, 2001.
11. It is
recommended that Linda Fry be employed as a short-term substitute teacher,
effective the first day worked.
12. It is
recommended that Brian Sabol be approved as a volunteer Boys' Wresting Coach
for the 2001-2002 school year.
13. It is
recommended that the resignation of Suzanne West as a substitute teacher be
accepted.
14. It is
recommended that Barbara Cole be employed as Spring Hill Junior High School
head custodian, effective October 15, 2001.
15. It is
recommended that the following staff members received $20 per hour for after
school literacy and proficiency intervention.
16. It is
recommended that the following staff members receive the amount indicted for
participating in activities related to staff development of new math
strategies.
DONATION OF COMPUTERS BY FIRST ENERGY CORPORATION
1. It is
recommended that the donation of computers from First Energy Corporation to
Young Elementary School, as presented in Exhibit 3, be approved.
DONATION OF COMPUTER MONITORS BY NEW YORK LIFE INSURANCE
COMPANY
1. It is
recommended that the donation of 50 computer monitors from New York Life
Insurance Company, as presented in Exhibit 4, be approved.
DONATION OF COMPUTERS BY SUMMIT COUNTY COUNCIL
1. It is
recommended that the donation of 13 computers to Young Elementary School by
Summit County Council, as presented in Exhibit 5, be approved.
APPROVAL OF COMPUTER SERVICES FOR THE MULTILIS LIBRARY
AUTOMATION SOFTWARE
1. It is
recommended that approval be given for a contract, as it appears in Exhibit 6,
with Summit County ESC (Educational Service Center) to provide computer
services for the Multi Automation software for the high school and junior high
school.
PERSONNEL
1. It is
recommended that Amanda Riccardi be employed for after school detention for the
2001-2002 school year
2. It is
recommended that the following be employed as substitute teachers for the
2001-2002 school year:

Kimberly Archer Johnathan Duncan
3. It is
recommended that Rebecca Tepus be employed as a substitute cafeteria worker,
effective the first day worked
4. It is
recommended that the request of Nancy France, Spring Hill Junior High library
clerk, for an unpaid leave of absence, November 26, 2001 through the remainder
of the 2001-2002 school year be approved
5. It is
recommended that Cynthia Byler's request for a leave of absence, January 31,
2002 through June 7, 2002 be approved
SPECIAL EDUCATION TRANSPORTATION
1. It is
recommended that the Springfield board of education deem transportation for
Erik Peck to be unreasonable, uneconomical, and impractical under the present
conditions, effective November 6, 2001.
