Schrop Intermediate School

MEET MR. LANE

This school year, 2011-2012, marks my 16th year of teaching. I have taught 6th grade, 3rd grade and 4th grade. This year I get to also teach 5th grade. Most of these years I had a self-contained classroom where I taught all of the subjects. Since moving to Schrop Intermediate School in the 2008-2009 school year, I have been teaching math and technology. I also spent two semesters teaching technology at the University of Akron.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Malone College. A few years later I went on to get my Master of Arts in Education concentrating on instructional technology from the University of Akron.

I grew up in Springfield Township and my parents still live in the community. It is great to get to work in a school I once attended at a child.

I am married to Mrs. Lane and have two daughters. Rebekah is 6 and Amara is 3. I never run short of pictures of my two princesses. Stop by room 208 to take a look for yourself.

Outside of school I volunteer at my church as a Compassion International Church Team Leader and in Born In Our Hearts Adoption and Foster Care ministry. I speak up for children in poverty through Compassion International and for children needing a forever family through Born In Our Hearts.

Whether it is my girls at home, the students at school, or the kids in need, children are a passion to me and my life revolves around the children of this world.
